75 Hard Day 12: Low Energy Days, Hot Tub Mornings & Letting Movement Bring Me Back

Thursday — Day 12.

Day 12 started with low energy.

I woke up around 5:30, and the original plan was to go swim laps again.

So I headed out the door, grabbed:

  • an Americano

  • oatmeal with brown sugar

from Starbucks and made my way to the gym.

But when I got there?

I had absolutely zero desire to swim.

Apparently two swim days that close together took more out of me than I expected.

And instead of forcing it, I listened to my body.

So a read my 10 pages and I ate my breakfast while hanging out in the hot tub.

That felt like exactly what I needed.

Warm water.
Quiet morning.
No pressure.

Half Day of Appointments + Drive Home

The rest of the morning was a half day of appointments followed by a drive home.

And energy-wise?

I still felt pretty low.

Not sick.

Not emotional.

Just tired.

Like my body wanted slower movement and more recovery.

Lunch

Lunch was simple:

  • two turkey and provolone roll-ups

  • pickle spear

  • alfalfa sprouts

Easy, high protein, quick.

Exactly the kind of thing that works on busy days.

Nap + Slowly Getting Energy Back

By the afternoon, I was exhausted enough that I decided to take a nap.

And when I woke up…

I still felt low energy.

For snack, I had SkinnyPop.

Simple, salty, easy.

And that little bit of salt and crunch hit the spot after such a low-energy day.

But I knew I still needed to get my outside workout done.

So I headed out for a walk through the neighborhood hills.

And interestingly enough, the more I walked, the more my energy slowly started coming back.

Not all at once.

Just little by little.

Which reminded me that sometimes movement drains you…

and sometimes movement gives energy back.

Learning the difference is important.

Dinner: Cauliflower Chickpea Curry

Dinner was cauliflower and chickpea curry with quinoa.

And while I do genuinely enjoy vegetarian meals…

this one definitely could’ve benefited from adding some chicken.

It was good.

Just not super satisfying after such a long, tiring day.

Still, it fit the cozy mood of the evening.

Warm. Comforting. Filling.

Slow Flow Yoga + Quiet Night

At 6:30, I taught a slow flow yoga session.

And slow flow felt perfect for today’s energy.

Gentle movement.
Stretching.
Breathing.
Nothing too intense.

After class, we were all pretty tired.

And since Friday was shaping up to be a really full day, we kept the rest of the night quiet.

A little TV.
Relaxing.
Early bedtime energy.

And that felt more supportive than trying to push myself to do more.

What I’m Noticing on Day 12

One thing this challenge is teaching me is that every day doesn’t need to feel high energy to still be productive.

Some days are strong.
Some days are softer.
Some days your body wants intensity.
Some days it wants recovery.

And I think alignment is learning how to work with those rhythms instead of constantly fighting against them.

Day 12 Complete

Lower energy.
Slower pace.
Still showing up.

And sometimes that’s enough.
