75 Hard Restart Day 2: Hot Weather, Shifted Plans & Real-Life Balance

Restart Day 2.

I had originally planned to start the morning with another 6:30 swim.

But the night before did not go well sleep-wise.

I woke up around 2 AM and struggled to fall back asleep.

And when I finally did…

it was just before 4.

So by the time I woke up again, it was already 6:30 and my swim window was basically gone.

And instead of spiraling about it, I adjusted the day.

Which I think is part of the balance I’m trying to teach through all of this:
structure without rigidity.

Morning Coffee + Quick Breakfast

Since I was already behind schedule, I grabbed:

  • an Americano

  • a fruit and cheese box

from Starbucks.

I ate:

  • the fruit

  • the cheddar cheese

And saved:

  • the crackers

  • the brie

for a snack later.

I still wanted to keep my new supportive morning structure though.

So I squeezed in about 15 minutes of reading while soaking in the hot tub before heading to work.

Not perfect.

But still intentional.

Work + Lash Appointment

I saw two clients that morning and then headed to get my eyelash fill.

And afterward, I ate the crackers and brie I had saved from earlier.

Which worked out perfectly because by then I was hungry again.

Elliptical Workout + Errands

After my lash appointment, I headed back to the gym and did 45 minutes on the elliptical.

And then life kept life-ing.

I still had Amazon returns to take to the The UPS Store before heading home.

By the time I finally got home, it was already around 3 PM.

And HOT.

The kind of heat that drains your energy the second you walk into it.

Unexpected Solo Dinner

So I took a nap until around 4:30.

And when I woke up, I realized nobody else was home to cook for.

And it was way too hot to make some big elaborate dinner anyway.

So I kept it simple.

I air fried sweet potato fries.

And that became dinner.

Sometimes meals are balanced and beautifully planned.

Sometimes it’s just:
“It’s hot. I’m tired. Sweet potato fries sound good.”

And that’s ok too.

Evening Walk Through the Hills

I didn’t have a 6:30 class this week, so after dinner I headed out for my second workout:
another 45-minute walk through the neighborhood hills.

At this point, those hills are becoming a full relationship in my life.

My shins may disagree with the arrangement…

but the walks still help clear my head.

And even with:

  • no swim

  • shifted schedule

  • low sleep

  • hot weather

I still got both workouts done.

Still Working on the Water

And somehow…

it still took me until 8 PM to finish all my water.

Which tells me I still need to keep improving my structure around hydration.

But that’s also part of this restart:
noticing where support systems still need adjusting.

Not punishing myself for it.

What I’m Noticing on Restart Day 2

I think one of the biggest things I’m trying to teach through this process is that alignment is not about performing perfection.

It’s about learning how to work with yourself instead of against yourself.

Some days are highly organized.

Some days evolve as they happen.

And both feminine and masculine energy matter here.

The masculine creates structure:

  • routines

  • planning

  • consistency

  • follow-through

The feminine allows flexibility:

  • adjusting

  • listening

  • recovering

  • responding to what the body actually needs

And healthy alignment needs both.

Because too much structure becomes control.

And too much flow becomes chaos.

Restart Day 2 Complete

Low sleep.
Hot weather.
Sweet potato fry dinner.
Still aligned.

And still showing up.
