75 Hard Day 16: Monday Reset, Shin Splints & Supportive Routines
Monday — Day 16.
Day 16 started slowly.
A little too slowly.
I’ve definitely gotten used to sleeping in after the trip because I didn’t wake up until 7 again.
And while it felt relaxing…
I also know I need to get myself back into my normal rhythm.
Mondays are usually my setup days.
Planning days.
Prep days.
Reset days.
And the later start definitely made the day feel like it got away from me a little faster.
Morning Routine + Breakfast
I started the day with my reading first.
And then breakfast was:
two fried eggs
sourdough toast
strawberries
Normally I would’ve added avocado too, but none of ours were ripe yet.
The tragedy of buying avocados is apparently having exactly one perfect hour to eat them before they turn from rocks to guacamole.
Morning Walk + Sore Legs
After breakfast, I headed straight out for my walk through the neighborhood hills.
And at this point?
My legs are definitely feeling it.
The walks.
The swimming.
The workouts.
The hills.
Everything is catching up to my body a little bit.
I can feel my shins getting angry again.
Hello shin splints.
Again.
Monday Reset Energy
The rest of the day was full Monday energy:
laundry
cleaning
scheduling
planning
organizing the week
Basically all the invisible little things that keep life functioning.
And while none of it feels glamorous, these kinds of days really do create the foundation for smoother weeks.
Lunch
Lunch ended up being leftovers from the stuffed peppers the night before.
I took the turkey, mushroom, and zucchini filling and served it over quinoa.
Simple. Filling. Easy.
Snack
For snack, I had:
cottage cheese
blueberries on the side
And lately, I’ve been noticing I’m craving simpler foods more often.
Less processed.
Less overstimulating.
Just foods that make my body feel good afterward.
Dinner
Dinner was:
sautéed shrimp
mushrooms
zucchini
tomatoes
spaghetti squash
pesto
Warm, flavorful, filling.
And afterward, I had my square of dark chocolate.
At this point, it feels less like dessert and more like part of the rhythm of my evenings.
Evening Walk + Shin Splints
After dinner, I headed back out for another walk through the neighborhood hills.
And by this point…
my shins were screaming.
Full shin splints again.
Apparently all these hills are doing their job.
But even with the soreness, the evening walks still feel grounding.
The evenings are beautiful this time of year.
And getting outside after dinner helps close out the day in a calmer way.
What I’m Noticing on Day 16
One thing I’m realizing is that routines fall apart faster than they build.
Just a couple slower mornings from traveling and suddenly sleeping until 7 starts feeling normal again.
And while rest is important…
I can also feel the difference when I stay anchored in my structure.
Not rigid structure.
Supportive structure.
The kind that helps life flow easier.
Day 16 Complete
Laundry done.
Shins hurting.
Still showing up.
